Romania publishes NuScale Doicesti SMR audit

Nuclearelectrica's reconvened Extraordinary General Meeting on September 11 voted to publish the Prime Minister's Control Body report on the Doicesti small modular reactor project, covering an inspection from October 15, 2025 to March 20, 2026. The report says the December 2025 cost estimate was $6.5 billion, about $3.8 billion above the original figure, and that FEED 2 finished 20 months late; it criticizes site selection and the Nova Power & Gas joint venture and does not cancel NuScale's reactor design. The Energy Ministry is still due to evaluate RoPower's final-investment-decision conditions at the end of September.
