BioNTech combo posts 70 percent ORR in SCLC

First global data from BioNTech's Phase 1b/2 BNT324-01 trial of pumitamig plus elfetabart drozuntecan showed a 70.4% objective response rate and 93.0% disease-control rate among 71 evaluable small-cell lung cancer patients, IASLC reported at WCLC 2026. The combination is the first reported PD-(L)1 x VEGF bispecific plus ADC pairing in lung cancer; first-line ORR was 92.3%, and grade 3 or higher treatment-related events hit 23.3% of 193 patients treated as of June 2. Investigators said the safety profile was manageable and that NSCLC data remain immature.
