NIO Power and Huaneng sign virtual power plant plan

NIO said China Huaneng Group's marketing department and NIO Power signed a Virtual Power Plant Collaborative Cooperation Work Plan in Xiong'an New Area on September 18, covering virtual power plants, electricity trading, and green power and certificates. The group-level plan is meant to give Huaneng's regional energy-sales companies a standard way to work with NIO's charging and swap network, which Gasgoo said numbered 9,372 sites in China as of September 17, including 4,090 swap stations. NIO CEO William Li called the deal a step toward using that infrastructure as an energy and commercial asset in the new power system, not only for driver charging.
