Taiwan NDC clears Longtan park for TSMC A14 fabs

Taiwan's National Development Council on September 17 approved a plan to expand Hsinchu Science Park's Longtan site by about 104 hectares, with NT$95.63 billion of park development funding, about 4,500 jobs, and a report still due to the Executive Yuan for final approval. United Daily News, citing TSMC's supply chain, said TSMC plans to return with three angstrom-era wafer fabs targeting A14 and below, with the first aimed for completion around 2030 and total investment estimated above NT$1 trillion if all three are built. Environmental review and non-urban land permits are scheduled through 2028, with park infrastructure construction from 2030.
