Meta releases Muse Spark Open weights for Mac Studio

Meta on Oct. 15 released weights for Muse Spark Open, an open multimodal model with 816 billion total parameters, 42 billion active, and a 1 million-token context, under a license with limited commercial terms. Meta says the model runs on two Apple M5 Ultra Mac Studios using MLX. CNBC reported that Apple and Meta worked on the release and quoted posts from Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO John Ternus.
