Court sets Apple's trade-secrets trial for July 19, 2027

On Oct. 28, 2026 Judge Edward J. Davila entered a case management order in Apple Inc. v. Liu, No. 5:26-cv-07078, setting trial for July 19, 2027 at 9:00 a.m. Fact discovery closes on March 12, 2027. The order also sets a June 1, 2027 lead-counsel meeting that includes settlement, which is a scheduled step and not a reported agreement to settle. The July 10 complaint names OpenAI Foundation, OpenAI Group PBC, Chang Liu, Tang Yew Tan, and io Products as defendants. The order caption itself says Chang Liu and other defendants.
