Overview
The pouch and cylindrical lithium-ion cells that made LGES the largest battery maker outside China, supplied to GM, Tesla, Ford, Hyundai, Stellantis, Honda, Toyota and Mercedes-Benz from plants in Korea, Poland and Michigan plus automaker joint ventures across North America. LGES held 8.3% of global EV battery installations from January through July 2026 on 60.3 GWh, third behind CATL and BYD, though its share slipped from 9.6% a year earlier and from 8.6% in the first half as Chinese makers gained and North American EV demand stayed weak.
Shipping at scale, but revenue guided to decline in 2026 as Western EV demand stalls and capacity converts to storage. Ultium Ohio Plant 1 restarted August 18, 2026.
