NuScale taps Paragon to finalize reactor safety control systems

NuScale Power awarded Mirion's Paragon Energy Solutions a contract, announced June 16, to complete final design work on three instrumentation-and-control systems for the NuScale Power Module - the safety-related Module Protection System, the Safety Data Interface System for post-accident monitoring, and the Plant Protection System - all built on Paragon's Highly Integrated Protection System platform. The scope includes independent verification and validation of the Module Protection System software, a step toward qualifying the safety-critical controls. The award advances NuScale's supply chain as it already has components for 12 power modules in production.
