Eutelsat signs multi-year Angola LEO deal with Sonangol's Mercury

Eutelsat and Mercury - a telecom subsidiary of Angola's state-owned energy group Sonangol, formerly known as MSTelcom - signed a new multi-year, multi-million-euro exclusivity agreement on June 16 for Eutelsat's OneWeb low-Earth-orbit connectivity in Angola. Mercury will use the network to serve enterprise clients, government agencies and offshore oil platforms with high-speed, low-latency service. Eutelsat says it is the only licensed LEO operator in Angola today, deepening a partnership that gives it a significant foothold in the market.
