BYD's Brazil plant builds its 100,000th vehicle in about a year
BYD said its factory in Camaçari, Brazil rolled out its 100,000th vehicle in roughly a year of operation, a Dolphin Mini marking the milestone, as the Chinese automaker leans on exports to offset a cooling home market. The plant assembles the all-electric Dolphin Mini alongside the plug-in hybrid King and Song Pro. BYD's overseas sales hit a record 174,900 units in June, up about 95% year over year, lifting first-half exports to roughly 789,400 vehicles even as its domestic June sales fell about 22%.
