Aurora launches second-generation driverless trucks for freight
Aurora Innovation unveiled its second-generation driverless trucks on July 22, built on the International LT Series and powered by next-generation autonomous hardware, and said it will deploy them across its 10 driverless routes in the U.S. Sun Belt to serve additional customers. The company has logged nearly 440,000 driverless miles as of the end of June and disclosed a recent customer plan to purchase 500 Aurora Driver-powered trucks. Manufacturing partner Roush is targeting an annual production run-rate of 1,000 trucks by the end of 2026, a step toward Aurora's goal of exiting the year with more than 200 driverless trucks in service.
