Overview

Lucid's first midsize model, a sleek crossover on the lower-cost Atlas-based 800V midsize platform, aimed at the Tesla Model Y. A more rugged sibling model, Earth, is planned to follow Cosmos to market by roughly a year. The midsize platform uses a next-generation centralized 800V architecture with bidirectional charging and a new 'Atlas' drive unit that is about 23% lighter and has 30% fewer parts than Lucid's current-generation motors.

Unveiled in March 2026 priced from roughly $50,000. Originally targeted for late-2026 production, Cosmos was delayed about a year during Lucid's August 4, 2026 operational reset; production now targets the second half of 2027 at the AMP-2 plant in Saudi Arabia, with Casa Grande, Arizona production to follow 6-12 months later. CEO Silvio Napoli said the midsize platform will launch only once quality and process requirements are met.
