Overview
Tesla's advanced driver-assistance software that can navigate city streets, make lane changes, park, and use summon features under active driver supervision. Tesla positions the same AI foundation behind FSD as part of its broader autonomy and robotics stack.
FSD (Supervised) is currently offered as a monthly subscription and requires the driver to remain attentive at all times. Active subscriptions reached 1.48M in Q2 2026 (up 56% YoY, the largest quarterly add in Tesla's history), with more than 55% of new North American deliveries taking an FSD option at time of purchase. European regulatory clearance is expanding: after a Dutch type approval in April 2026, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark (June 9), and Belgium (June 10) cleared FSD (Supervised) for public roads, making it five EU markets; Italy has filed to adopt the Dutch approval, while Germany, France, Spain, and the Czech Republic are holding out for a coordinated EU-wide decision rather than a national clearance Brussels could later overturn. Germany's KBA received a dedicated Tesla vehicle in July 2026 for independent evaluation rather than relying solely on the Dutch dossier, with the Autobahn speed offset a specific sticking point. The next qualified-majority TCMV vote is still preliminarily expected around October 6, 2026, though industry trackers warn continued disagreement could push a final decision into late 2026 or 2027.
