Bishop Airlock

Overview

The first and only permanent commercially owned module on the International Space Station, built by Nanoracks (now Voyager) with Thales Alenia Space and Boeing. The bell-shaped, ~4 m³ airlock — five times the capacity of the station's government airlock — deploys CubeSats and external payloads, hosts experiments and ejects trash, and has operated since its December 2020 arrival on SpaceX CRS-21.

Installed on the ISS Tranquility module December 19, 2020; in commercial service for NASA and private payload customers
