The CAAC accepted the VT35's type-certificate application in March 2025; as of the June 9, 2026 Q1 report the program remains in the certification-basis definition phase, with EHang in ongoing discussions with the CAAC on special conditions, safety objectives, and performance requirements. The aircraft has completed its transition-flight test between thrustborne hover and wingborne cruise and is in envelope-expansion testing. EHang has guided to a 12-18 month path, implying certification in late 2026-2027, alongside construction of a dedicated VT35 production hub in Hefei with the local government and JAC Motors. No type certificate has been granted yet.
