Overview

The A220 is a 100-160 seat single-aisle airliner inherited from Bombardier's C Series (acquired in 2018), serving the smaller end of Airbus's narrow-body lineup below the A320neo Family. It comes in two variants, the A220-100 and the larger A220-300.

In active production, ramping toward 14 aircraft per month. Firm orders passed 1,000 in May 2026 after AirAsia X's landmark 150-aircraft order (the largest single-customer A220 deal ever) and stood above 1,100 as of end-June 2026, with BermudAir joining as a new customer for 10 A220-300s at the July 2026 Farnborough Airshow.
