20 kW Hall-Effect Thruster

Overview

The krypton-fed electric thruster K2 designed in house, test fired at full power on the ground in 2025 and flown on Gravitas in 2026. K2 describes it as the most powerful Hall-effect thruster ever flown, and it is what lets a two-tonne satellite ride a cheap rideshare to low Earth orbit and then climb itself to medium Earth orbit in under 90 days instead of paying for a dedicated direct-inject launch. The economics of the whole Mega Class product depend on it.

Flying on Gravitas and performing the LEO to MEO orbit raise; four of them fly on the planned Giga Class.
