Summary
UBTECH Robotics is a Shenzhen humanoid and smart-service robot company founded in March 2012 by Zhou Jian. It listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange main board on December 29, 2023 under ticker 9880.HK. After years of education, consumer, and commercial robots, full-size embodied humanoids became its largest revenue line in 2025: group revenue reached RMB 2.001 billion (+53.3% year over year) with RMB 820.6 million from full-size humanoids on 1,079 units delivered, more than 80% of those into industrial settings. Walker S2, the industrial flagship with a 3-minute autonomous battery swap, entered mass production and delivery in November 2025 with Walker-series orders then above RMB 800 million (~$112 million). First-half 2026 results showed group revenue of RMB 1.269 billion (+104.2%), full-size humanoid revenue of RMB 590.3 million (+1,445%) on 921 units, and a narrowed period loss of RMB 338.8 million. The company says 96.4% of that full-size revenue was industrial customization, so the 921-unit print is a mixed Walker-plus-Cruzr category, not 921 identical bipedal S2s. Named industrial customers and partners include BYD, Geely, Foxconn, Honda Trading, Audi FAW, SF Express, Texas Instruments, and Airbus (an early-2026 aviation-manufacturing evaluation). In June 2026 it launched Walker C1 for commercial service and the UWORLD U1 consumer companion series (from RMB 119,800; 13,361 orders claimed at launch). A Guangxi/Liuzhou plant targeting 10,000-unit annual humanoid capacity was commissioned around mid-September 2026. On July 28, 2026 the FCC added foreign-produced humanoids to its Covered List, blocking new models from US equipment authorization unless the Department of War grants Conditional Approval, which shuts the legal US import path for new Walker S2 and U1 units. UBTECH remains loss-making and still converts a large share of full-size revenue through customized industrial projects rather than a single catalog SKU.
Main Products
Industrial full-size humanoid designed for factory and logistics work, with a dual-battery hot-swap system that lets the robot change its own pack in about three minutes, RGB binocular stereo vision, BrainNet 2.0 plus Co-Agent software, and a 15 kg payload across a 0-1.8 meter workspace.
Mass production and delivery began November 2025. Deployed or under evaluation with Chinese automakers and electronics makers including BYD, Geely, Foxconn, and others, plus an early-2026 Airbus aviation-manufacturing evaluation. H1 2026 full-size unit sales (921) include Walker plus wheeled Cruzr variants, not S2 alone.
Full-size commercial service humanoid for urban reception, guidance, education, and hospitality, with a more aesthetic design than industrial Walker S2, customizable motion, and open SDK hooks for site-specific knowledge bases.
Launched in 2026 as UBTECH's commercial-service counterpart to Walker S2. A September 18, 2026 Slovenian showcase followed a regional distribution agreement. Not a factory workhorse; positioned for public-facing service.
Consumer 'ultra-bionic' companion humanoid sold as U1 Lite (semi-torso), U1 Pro, and U1 Ultra, with 88 degrees of freedom and an emotion-oriented language model. Priced from RMB 119,800 at the June 30, 2026 launch.
UBTECH reported 13,361 cumulative orders at the June 30, 2026 launch and targeted China deliveries from September 2026. Independent confirmation of those first household deliveries is still thin as of mid-September 2026.
What's Next
Convert H1 run-rate into a full-year industrial print
H1 2026 delivered RMB 590 million and 921 full-size units. The next test is whether FY2026 shipments and the 5,000-to-10,000-unit capacity story show up as recognized revenue, not just order announcements, and whether the 96.4% customization mix starts to look more like a repeatable catalog product.
Ramp the Liuzhou 10,000-unit plant
The Guangxi factory is supposed to take Walker S and Cruzr toward a 10-minute takt and 10,000-unit annual capacity. Watch whether 2026 output actually uses that capacity; year-end 2025 utilization on the prior 6,000-unit annualized base was reported as under 20%.
Deliver UWORLD U1 household units
China deliveries were targeted from September 2026 against 13,361 launch orders. Confirming that those robots actually ship, and that they work as companions rather than as launch-event props, is the consumer half of UBTECH's three-pronged industrial/commercial/consumer bet.
Operations & Revenue
Walker S2 has been in mass production since November 2025. H1 2026 converted 921 full-size units into RMB 590.3 million of revenue, 46.5% of the group, mostly industrial customization rather than a single catalog robot. Walker C1 (commercial) and UWORLD U1 (consumer, from RMB 119,800) launched in June 2026; U1 deliveries were targeted from September 2026. A Liuzhou plant aimed at 10,000-unit annual capacity was commissioned in September 2026. The July 28, 2026 FCC Covered List addition blocks new foreign humanoid models from US equipment authorization without Department of War Conditional Approval, so new Walker S2 and U1 units have no legal US commercial import path. Cash fell from RMB 4.89 billion at year-end 2025 to RMB 2.33 billion at June 30, 2026 after the Fenglong acquisition. The company is still loss-making.
Revenue Streams
Full-size industrial humanoids (Walker S / Cruzr)
Walker S2 and related full-size industrial platforms sold and customized for automotive, electronics, logistics, semiconductor, aerospace, and data-collection work. This line was 41.1% of FY2025 revenue and 46.5% of H1 2026 revenue. The H1 unit count mixes bipedal Walker and wheeled Cruzr variants.
Key Metrics
Timeline
Results published March 31, 2026 show 2025 revenue of RMB 2.001 billion (+53.3%), a narrowed net loss of RMB 789.8 million, and full-size embodied-humanoid revenue of RMB 820.6 million (+2,203.7%) on 1,079 units. More than 80% of those units went into industrial settings. The company also reported 2,550 full-time employees at year-end.
In March-April 2026 UBTECH completes a 29.99% share transfer plus a tender offer that takes its stake in Shenzhen-listed Zhejiang Fenglong Electric (002931.SZ) to 43.01%, becoming controlling shareholder under a roughly RMB 1.665 billion agreement aimed at locking in humanoid supply-chain parts.
In June 2026 UBTECH launches Walker C1, a full-size commercial service humanoid, and the UWORLD U1 ultra-bionic consumer companion series (U1 Lite, U1 Pro, U1 Ultra) priced from RMB 119,800. At the June 30 launch it reported 13,361 cumulative U1-series orders, with China deliveries targeted from September 2026.
On July 28, 2026 the FCC added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices, including humanoids and quadrupeds, to its Covered List, blocking new models from the equipment authorization needed to import, market, or sell in the US unless the Department of War grants Conditional Approval. Previously authorized models are grandfathered. New China-made Walker S2 and UWORLD U1 units sit on the wrong side of that gate for the US market.
Interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026 show revenue of RMB 1.269 billion (+104.2%), full-size embodied-humanoid revenue of RMB 590.3 million (+1,445%) on 921 units (+1,946.7%), and a period loss of RMB 338.8 million (narrowed 23%). Full-size products were 46.5% of group revenue. The filing notes 96.4% of that full-size revenue came from industrial customization.
Around September 13, 2026 coverage of a newly commissioned 14,000 square meter Guangxi/Liuzhou plant describes a 10-minute takt-time target for Walker S bipeds and Cruzr wheeled platforms, using UBTECH's own robots for intralogistics, as the company scales toward a 10,000-unit annual capacity goal.
On November 17, 2025 UBTECH says mass production and delivery of the first several hundred Walker S2 units has begun, with Walker-series orders exceeding RMB 800 million (~$112 million) and a 2025 delivery target of 500 industrial units. Named customers include BYD, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, Geely Auto, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC New Energy, Foxconn, and SF Express.
