Overview
Archer's production eVTOL aircraft - a piloted, all-electric VTOL with seating for 4 passengers plus 1 pilot. Features 12 electric motors (6 tilt for cruise, 6 lift for VTOL), a V-tail design, and is optimized for back-to-back short trips of ~20 miles with ~10-minute recharge between flights. Designed for high-utilization urban air taxi operations.
Completed UAE in-country full eVTOL flight-envelope testing in 2025, passed 700 total Midnight test flights by May 2026, and had completed 70% of for-credit FAA flight-test points using Midnight aircraft by Q1 2026. By Q2 2026 the FAA had approved Archer's quality management system, unlocking for-credit conformity findings, and Archer had logged more than 150 piloted Midnight test flights - including a piloted Salinas-to-Monterey city-to-city flight on July 30, 2026 - with the publicly demonstrated piloted transition flight still the outstanding gate, slated for H2 2026 and not yet publicly completed as of August 30, 2026.
