Overview

Autonomous hybrid-electric VTOL derivative of the A250 aimed at contested military logistics, CASEVAC, and other defense missions where payload, austere operation, range, and optional autonomy matter more than urban air taxi economics. Formally unveiled at the July 2026 Farnborough Airshow, it pairs a GE Aerospace CT7/T700 hybrid-electric turbine propulsion system with Sikorsky's MATRIX autonomy stack.

Unveiled July 20, 2026 with GE Aerospace (hybrid-electric turbine propulsion) and Sikorsky (MATRIX autonomy stack, also used on Sikorsky's pilotless Black Hawk demonstrator) as partners. On its August 12, 2026 Q2 earnings call, BETA disclosed that the U.S. Army's DEVCOM had funded hybridization and autonomy work informing the MV250, including an ALIA CTOL deployment to NATO's Exercise Aurora 26 in Sweden (April 27-May 13, 2026) that flew 30 sorties using about $300 of electricity with a single pilot and maintainer; BETA is rolling that work up toward a rapid-prototyping contract targeted over the following year, ahead of the longer-term goals of military exercises in 2027 and production as soon as 2028.
