Overview
Executive flagship electric SUV launched in May 2026 on NIO's new 900V high-voltage architecture, with 5C ultra-fast charging alongside NIO's signature 3-minute battery swap. Officially launched May 27, 2026; nationwide deliveries began May 28. Launch prices came in RMB 30,000 below pre-sale levels across every trim, and NIO's U.S.-listed shares rose roughly 10% on the news. After delivering 3,108 units in the last four days of May, the ES9 reached its 10,000th delivery on June 26, 2026 - about a month after deliveries began - and crossed its 20,000th cumulative delivery on August 8, 2026, 73 days after deliveries began (the second block of 10,000 took about six weeks). But July deliveries fell to 6,315 units (-26.5% month over month), the model's first sequential decline since launch, dropping its share of NIO-brand volume to 31.6% from 39.2% in June; full-month June deliveries had reached 8,595 units (21.17% of NIO's total that month), generating an estimated RMB5.3B (~$784M) in revenue - more than any other car sold in China in June except Tesla's Model Y, per Bloomberg Intelligence. Deutsche Bank's full-year 2026 ES9 forecast stood at 56,000 units as of its July upgrade, and higher-spec SkyRide-suspension trims still carried 13-14 week waits in August.
