Anthropic's agentic 'AI coworker' that runs longer, multi-step business tasks (memos, research, RFP reviews, decks) rather than code. Originally desktop-only, it expanded to the web and to iOS/Android on July 7, 2026, with sessions running remotely in the cloud so work continues after a device closes and state syncs across devices. A 'Record a skill' feature (July 21, 2026) turns a screen-recorded workflow into a reusable Skill.
Rolled out first to the $100/mo Max plan with usage limits doubled through August 5, 2026, other plan tiers to follow; Anthropic says over 90% of the roughly 1.2M Cowork sessions analyzed are business operations and content creation rather than coding.
