Gemini Robotics

Overview
DeepMind's physical-AI model family for controlling robots. Gemini Robotics 2, unveiled July 30, 2026, extends earlier upper-body-only models to whole-body control ('from feet to fingertips'), plus Gemini Robotics ER2 for embodied reasoning, an On-Device 2 tier, and multi-robot collaboration where different robot types hand off subtasks via shared semantic understanding.
Demonstrated on Apptronik's Apollo 2 humanoid with five-fingered SharpaWave hands, completing tasks like tying a trash bag and unscrewing a light bulb; introduced alongside an 'ASIMOV-Agentic' safety benchmark. Gemini Robotics-ER 2, including a streaming variant, is now available in public preview via the Gemini API; the earlier ER 1.6 preview endpoint is scheduled to shut down August 31, 2026.
