Overview
Google DeepMind's frontier, natively multimodal LLM family spanning Pro, Flash and Flash-Lite tiers plus Deep Think reasoning. As of August 2026 the lineup includes Gemini 3.1 Pro / 3.1 Deep Think, the new default Gemini 3.7 Flash (a coding- and agent-focused workhorse update to Gemini 3.6 Flash), and the Gemini Omni world-simulator model, with Gemini 3.5 Pro in partner testing and Gemini 4 pre-training underway.
Gemini 3 Pro launched November 18, 2025; Gemini 3.1 Pro on February 19, 2026; Gemini 3.5 Flash and Gemini Omni at Google I/O 2026; Gemini 3.6 Flash shipped as the new default model on July 21, 2026; Gemini 3.7 Flash replaced it as the default workhorse on August 13, 2026 with a 65.3% DeepSWE v1.1 coding score (up from 49.0%) and introductory pricing about half of 3.6 Flash's. Gemini 3.5 Pro remained in partner testing as of late July 2026 after slipping past multiple targets, while DeepMind began its most ambitious pre-training run yet for Gemini 4.
