Overview
OpenAI's current flagship model, launched September 3, 2026. OpenAI calls it a generational leap for coding, computer use, science and cybersecurity, and the first model it has designated Critical for cybersecurity under its Preparedness Framework - meaning it can find previously unknown security flaws and exploit them without step-by-step human guidance. President Greg Brockman told reporters it is not unreasonable to feel the company is now in the AGI era.
Launched September 3, 2026 first to Daybreak cybersecurity customers, with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, API, Azure and AWS Bedrock access said to follow over the coming days. The most advanced offensive cyber tools remain limited to trusted defenders under Daybreak Blue. Usage is included in existing paid-plan allowances, with extra credits available; Enterprise access is off by default at launch.
