Overview
AI supercomputer in Memphis, Tennessee acquired in the February 2026 xAI merger. Sold as multi-year compute capacity to external AI customers, with disclosed contracts to Anthropic and Google.
Operating at 300+ MW with 220,000+ NVIDIA GPUs. Fully leased to Anthropic ($1.25B/month through May 2029) with additional capacity ramping for Google ($920M/month, ~110,000 GPUs, October 2026 through June 2029). Colossus 2, the separate Blackwell/Blackwell-Ultra-generation follow-on system nearby in Memphis, moved from under-construction to operational on September 3, 2026 and was reported as the world's largest AI data center by IT power capacity (roughly 946 MW, with Epoch AI estimating around 1.1 million H100-equivalent compute units, en route to a reported ~1,531 MW in early 2027); it hosts the separate Reflection AI compute deal disclosed in June 2026. Reverified in early September 2026: Colossus 1's own capacity and its Anthropic/Google contract terms are unchanged.
