Xiao Di (Humanoid Robot)
Overview
BYD's first humanoid robot, a service-oriented machine designed to greet customers and demo vehicles in BYD's Di Space showrooms. Built around 360-degree vision, facial and lip-movement recognition, and gesture recognition, with real-time two-way translation across 6 Chinese dialects and 6 foreign languages, positioning BYD alongside Tesla, Unitree, XPeng, and Chery in the humanoid-robot race.
Publicly unveiled at the Di Space brand-experience center in Zhengzhou in early August 2026 and rolling out to showrooms starting in Shenzhen and Shanghai, with plans to expand to about 50 locations. EVP Stella Li has said she hopes every BYD store eventually hosts two to three robots, with real-world robot sales advisors realistic within one to two years.
